Titanic took two hours and forty minutes to sink. That’s incredible. So by all means she was a good design. People will point out the flaws in the watertight compartment system and the lack of lifeboats, but in both cases, Titanic exceeded safety regulations above and beyond. For her era, Titanic was a good design. She was pretty unlucky, but not for the reason most people know. Saying that something is unsinkable and God can’t sink it is tempting fate, but Titanic was a tragedy where almost everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Especially at the beginning.
